Racing Sunday, June 23, 2019

In partnership with the Kingston Sailing Club, RSRS will offer an opportunity to race aboard one of our keelboats against other sailboats in the KSC Sunday races. This unique experience will expose our youth and adult students to the excitement and fun of racing with one of our US Sailing Certified Instructors surpervising. Participants will learn how to read the KSC Sailing Instructions, including how to determine which division a boat races in, understanding the race courses and starting signals, basic racing rules, basic racing strategy, including starts and mark roundings, spinnaker flying and tips for making a sailboat go fast.

Prerequisite: For adults: Basic Keelboat Certification or its equivalent; for youth ages 12 and older, successful completion of one week of our youth sailing program.

Cancellation Policy: Full refunds will be offered for cancellations that occur 30 days or more before a program's registration deadline (if no deadline, the first day of the program). Cancellations between 30 and 7 days will offered a 50% refund or credit toward another class. Cancellations after the registration deadline or within 7 days of the first day of class (whichever comes first) will not be refunded.

Weather Cancellation: Generally, Riverport Sailing School does not cancel classes. We sail in light rain and a variety of wind and weather conditions. We stay ashore only if conditions are dangerous, i.e. squall or thunder and lightning.
