Build Your Own Skin-On-Frame Solo/Tandem Canoe
Description
Guest boatbuilding instructor Hilary Russell, Director of the Berkshire Boat Building School (www.berkshireboatbuildingschool.org) will lead this unique course on building skin-on-frame double paddle canoes. Using kits designed by Russell, students will spend five days building their own tandem/solo canoe by constructing a wooden frame and stretching on a polyester "skin". These 28lb canoes are strong and can hold up to 350lbs. Easily car-topped, they are perfect for casual paddlers and beginning boatbuilders alike.
