$5/person | HRMM Members FREE

Boats come in all different shapes and sizes. During the second Museum Mates of the year, children will explore the concepts of buoyancy and mass as they relate to boats. This program will include a museum tour that focuses on shape, size, and design of vessels found in our exhibits as well as a guide-led tour of the Water/Ways exhibit. After exploring the museum, children will have time to construct their own miniature boat. There will be a fun activity to determine how much mass boats can hold before they sink prior to the conclusion of the event.  The Miniature Boat Building program supports the Smithsonian Institute Traveling Exhibit, Water/Ways, hosted by the Hudson River Maritime Museum January 11, 2020 - February 23, 2020.
