Prohibition in the United States began in January, 1920 when the 18th Amendment went into effect. But in the Hudson Valley, some people found ways around the prohibition on alcohol. Come to the museum for this special program on the history of Prohibition in the Hudson Valley. The program includes:

- Special one-night only exhibit of bottles from Kingston breweries

- Brief talk on the history of Prohibition in the Hudson Valley, including tales of bootleggers and rum runners

- Special viewing of historic 1930s silent film footage from the Dwyer family of a Kingston "party barge" 

- Historic 1920s and '30s canapes and hors d'oeuvres

- Historic non-alcoholic punch from the Prohibition era (with recipe!)

- Historic alcoholic punch from after Probhition was repealed (with recipe!)

- Spirits tasting with Tuthilltown Spirits, including souvenir tasting glass
