Description

In this second class of the Foundations of Woodworking series, students will learn about the tools in a basic woodworking kit, including layout tools, saws, chisels, and planes. Each tool will be examined, its use and proper handling demonstrated, tool maintenance including fine tuning and sharpening, and where to find good tools. Students are encouraged to bring their own tools for examination.

Prerequisite: Foundations of Woodworking: Understanding Wood

Instructor: Michael Puryear is a furniture maker, studio designer, and teacher with 30 years of experience. He has taught college-level courses and has built a number of small wooden craft.
