Custom Sailing Lessons: 2020

Due to the Covid-19 Virus situation, we are temporarily suspending registration. Please put your name on the waiting list! You will be contacted if/when the course is scheduled. 

Always wanted to learn how to sail? Just bought a sailboat, but want some professional training? Now you can take custom lessons with the Sailing School at the Hudson River Maritime Museum. Join our certified sailing instructors on one of our sailboats, or have an instructor teach you on your boat. (US Coast Guard safety guidelines must be followed on your boat. )Each lesson is 3 hours long. If students are sailing on one of our boats, they meet their instructor at the Riverport Wooden Boat School of  the Hudson River Maritime Museum. In order to schedule a custom sailing lesson, you must have two, three or four students.

You must have a minimum of two students for a lesson to take place. The maximum is four students. 

General Registration: $275
HRMM Individual  Member Registration: $250
HRMM Household Member & Above: $225

Cancellation policy: Full refunds will be offered for cancellations that occur 30 days or more before a program's registration deadline (if no deadline, the first day of the program). Cancellations between 30 and 7 days will be offered a 50% refund or credit toward another class. Cancellations after the registration deadline or within 7 days of the first day of class (whichever comes first) will not be refunded.

Weather Cancellation: Generally, Riverport Sailing School does not cancel classes. We sail in light rain and a variety of wind and weather conditions. We stay ashore and will reschedule only if conditions are dangerous, i.e. squall or thunder and lightning.
