In this first course of the Foundations of Woodworking series, students will examine the nature of wood as a material of construction and the unique qualities it has as a consequence of coming from a living organism. This will provide students with a foundation for future woodworking classes.

Instructor: Michael Puryear is a furniture maker, studio designer, and teacher with 30 years of experience. He has taught college-level courses and has built a number of small wooden craft.
