Dado Built Tool Box

03/13/2021 09:30 AM - 05:00 PM ET

Description

Dado:  a groove cut in the face of a board, into which the edge of another board is fixed

The dado is one of the most used joinery techniques in woodworking. Whether building boxwork for cabinetry, drawers, a bookcase, or in this instance a tool box, the dado is a strong simple joint.

Join instructor Wayne Fords for this one day build of your own tool box. Each student will start with boards available at any lumber yard and end up with a box ready to take home and fill with tools. The students will use common shop machinery including the table saw, miter saw, band saw and sanders to mill all the parts of the tool box. They will then glue-up and complete the box by the end  of the class. This class is perfect for beginners who have never worked with these tools, or students who have some experience but would like to learn more about joinery.
