Youth Intermediate Sailing Series: 6 Thursdays, 4 - 7 pm, Starts May 27, 2021

Description

This series of six three-hour classes is designed for youth students ages ten through seventeen who have some small boat sailing experience and would like to further develop their skills. Students will be sailing with other young sailors on a variety of centerboard boats: Capri, Snipe and 420.  US Sailing-Certified instructors will present brief chalk talks on land at the beginning of class, will teach a variety of sailing skills, including an introduction to racing, from nearby safety boats out on the water, and will conclude with a daily debrief session. Safety and Covid-19 safety protocols will be followed. Class will meet outdoors, students and instructors will wear face coverings, and equipment will be sanitzied frequently. 

Class will meet on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. May 27, June 3, 10, 17, 24, July 1. July 8 will be added if a weather make-up date is required. Students should commit to attending all six classes. 

*Instructor/Student ratio is 1:5. 

Prerequisite: One week of Youth Sailing Program (2017-2019) or several Three-Hour Youth Centerboard Boat Sailing Clinic classes (2020).   Contact jsterling@hrmm.org if unsure of eligibility.
