Rod Building Basics
Description
Join us for a 2 evening class to learn the basics of rod building. Instructor Michael Puryear will explain and demonstrate the steps needed to take a set of rod blanks to a working rod. This will include steps like installing the grip and reel seat. As well as wrapping on the guides and topping it off with the tip-top. This class is a great opportunity for any fisherman who has considered building a custom rod. The techniques learned in this class can be used to build any rod type from fly fishing to spinning rods.

Instructor: Michael Puryear is a furniture maker, studio designer, and teacher with 30 years of experience. He has taught college-level courses and has built a number of small wooden craft.
